Beyond Samples **Giveaway!**

Hello all! I have been hot and busy here in the city of Seoul. We have been trampled under the feet of a very needy heat wave. As my hair and sweat glands do not do well with the stress, I’ve been spending my days lounging under an air conditioner dreaming of fall. During that time I’ve been curating for Hanbox, the Korean lifestyle subscription box I co-own, and working on pictures, but not updating the blog as much. But, the good news is…I have some stuff to giveaway because I’ll never be able to use all the samples I have stored up from all my shopping excursions! Beyond is always quite generous with their samples so I have more than enough. These are all cruelty free and eco friendly. Here is what’s on offer: Loads of sample packs with creams, emusulsions, essences, serum and scrubs. This is a great way to try some of Beyond’s products to see what you like. I really have to figure out why the picture looks so yellow. But, …

Reminiscing | Seoul’s Cherry Blossoms 2014

Seoul’s on the edge of Cherry Blossom season. A little honesty- after 4 1/2 years here in Korea, I’m over it. I do not ever feel like fighting the throngs of couples lining every street that happens to have these beautiful, delicate trees to get the perfect photo op. Not only was I thrilled because it the one and only time anyone from back home has visited me here, but I was excited just to show them everything I loved about Korea. They arrived at the end of April so I told them we’d be lucky to see any cherry blossoms at that point. My sister really wanted to see the trees so I thought we would head to the National Assembly, where I …

Would you like more information? Please check my Cruelty Free in Korea Page! Where I’m from, in America, buying cruelty free is a simple choice. You can buy it easily (and oftentimes cheaply) from most stores. There is also an amazing amount of choice, something I desperately miss living in Korea. Actually, for the first six months of my stay in 2012, I didn’t buy cruelty free because I thought it was a lost cause. But, all it really took was a little research and I could have found quite a few options from some of the most common beauty stores and large markets in Korea. I’ll admit, it’s even easier here in Seoul. I hope this list helps you if you’re new to Korea, or new to cruelty free products, and wondering what you can buy that is not tested on animals-something truly shameful in this day and age. 😦 If you are not a cruelty free shopper, I’m not going to throw horrible pictures of tested animals in your face (you can do your own …
