It is summer in Korea.
I am hot and sweaty when I walk down the street so it officially summer in my book. That’s okay, though, because last weekend I made a fun-tastic picnic and hung out at the river all day. I am indoorsy by nature, but a little preparation goes a long way! Take your food, beverages and entertainment and you too can enjoy a little summer picnic fun. And there’s always people and dog watching, which makes the time fly by.
If you are hoping to make a picnic day by the Han in Seoul, remember to go early to secure your spot under a tree!
Our little setup.
Homemade duck sandwiches with kimchi mayo. A flavor combo I fell in love with.
I ❤ picnics!
Bird toothpicks. Fancy.
I was going to either make a summery cocktail or buy my favorite apple cider. I opted lazy, but, you guys, it’s so good.
Smooshed deviled eggs with capers and cayenne pepper. They were so pretty the night before. 🙂
Easy tomato and cucumber salad with avocado, olive oil, salt, pepper and cilantro.
Walnut tart from the Lee Jo Bakery down the block from me.
Doesn’t that duck sandwich look amazing peeking out of there?
We made a lot of feathered friends.
Phil doing his thing.
Sadly, the best picture of me in the bunch. Terrible.
