This is not an old place, it was built in the 1990s. However, the beauty of this temple is unmatched by any that I’ve seen. It’s also huge. The largest in Jeju boasting a view of orange trees and the ocean. It’s gorgeous and serene. A definite must if you visit the island.
It’s located in the Jungmun Resort area.

There are many pictures here but I have even more on Flickr! Crystal’s Flickr Page
I was mocked endlessly for this pose.
It was a bit rainy and deserted the day we came. Such a perfect combination to see a temple.
I love these photos. I really miss the colours and intricate carvings of Asia, and you’ve captured them perfectly.
Thanks so much! I’m such an amateur picture-taker and it’s really nice to get that compliment!!
Great photos. I am writing a book about the significant Buddhist temple of Korea and would like to include a section about Yakcheon-sa. I seek permission to use four of your photos in the book, which will be available for printing costs only. In other words, I seek no profit for the book. Rather, I want to encourage people to visit these magnificent temples for themselves. Thanks for your consideration.
Sure you can use the photos, Laren, that sounds like an interesting book. Please let me know when it would be available so I can check it out! :D.
Thank you! Let me make sure I have a correct credit line. Is it Crystal Northcutt at unepeach.com?
Yes, that’s me! Looking forward to reading your book! 😀
